Mandy Maude Culbreath, MSW, LCSW
Tele-Therapy Only
Gritty, blue collar, crisis interventionist. ER Social Worker by day. Cook and Writer by night. Mostly in communities and groups of people, I offer consulting for group sessions, training, and case management services as well as one-on- one therapy. Inspired by the work of Dr. Lisa Miller, I operate with a non-judgmental lens of spiritual life integration with mental wellness. I’m also an Adverse Childhood Experience educator in Louisiana. My background is in trauma-informed care, food justice and community service. I unapologetically love maritime workers, grocery store staff, bartenders and farmers, regardless of political affiliation. I operate with Harm Reduction principles. Committed to Racial justice, mutual aid, LGBTQ+ joy, women forward. My dad is a musician, and my mom is a career preschool teacher. It’s through these lenses that we could begin to work together for healing and wholeness within your adult experiences and stressors in the restaurant industry.
In the setting of Wehelp NOLA, we may use Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) as a form of evidence-based psychotherapy that builds on cognitive, behavioral, and psychodynamic therapies by integrating the neuroscience of positive emotion, methods derived from Buddhist psychology, and evolutionary science. I have a bizarre amount of church experience, so we may also talk about Christian and inclusive Interfaith rituals and re-claiming that – if that is a place that provides healing for you or caused/ causes harm.
I’m also experienced in a humanistic approach. Humanistic therapy parallels the gestalt, present-oriented approach. The talk therapy doesn't focus as much on past events as it does on your active participation with the current moment. I help you empathetically validate your perspective while also offering you a safe space to reconnect to your identity.
Lastly, we could explore Somatic psychotherapy, Evidence-Based Treatment of Trauma Responses, Emotion Regulation guidance, Anxiety Treatment and resource connections related to the ACEs study over a lifespan, if you feel that is work that would benefit your day to day.

We would develop goals, and work collaboratively to achieve these and overcome obstacles and build healthy productive habits. Heidi Malnar, Counseling Intern, MA Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Tele-Therapy or Well Psychotherapy, 601 N. Carrolton Ave.NOLA, 70119
I am currently a Masters student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with Saybrook University, and concurrently working towards my Sound Healing and Yoga Therapy (IAYT) Certification. I have lived in New Orleans for 14 years, and as a counselor in training I am committed to implementing my learned knowledge, continuing education, and intuitive relational skills to serve my clients and community. My first career was in dance performance and education, and I discovered my calling to the helping profession during a Yoga for Warriors (PTSD) training. I come from a military family and know the process of integrating change and uncertainty all too well.
I embrace a holistic approach to counseling that values the entire human experience. My role is to provide safety, acceptance, and connection. Operating from Person- Centered and Relational-Cultural theoretical orientations, I believe that the success of counseling is rooted in the strength of the therapeutic relationship. Working together, we will examine the impact that our intra- and interpersonal relationships have on our well being, and how to foster healthy and meaningful connections.
Offering a bottom-up approach to healing, I apply a researched-based and trauma-informed poly-vagal lens into my practice. I believe that our bodies hold the memories of our defenses, the wisdom of our experiences, and the innate capacity to heal.
During our journey together you, the client, and I, the counselor will collaborate in identifying areas of focus, engage in active reflection, co-create goals, and develop a plan to support meaningful growth. I am committed to culturally responsive counseling, equitable practices, and honoring the unique experiences of the individual and their communities.

In-Person only; 2529 Jena Street, Suite 107, New Orleans, LA 70115
Have you ever said "Music is my therapy"? I believe it to be true for just about everyone, myself included. Through music therapy, we can work together to discover, develop, and define ways in which the use of music can directly facilitate achieving your personal goals. With every client, my immediate goal is to meet that person where they are. It is my ethical obligation and privilege to acknowledge, explore and learn about each person’s culture and context in order to authentically meet them where they are. Every human being is dynamic and evolving, so person-specific goals will emerge through the relationships that form through the use of music. Overall goals will focus on facilitating what is needed to achieve your desired goals.
What is music therapy? Music therapy is a reflexive process wherein my focus is to help you enhance your health and well-being through various music experiences that will serve as a catalyst for change. My approach to music therapy is integrative and founded upon a humanistic, person-centered belief that all persons are capable of and should move toward self-actualization, fostered by a therapeutic relationship that provides empathy and unconditional positive regard. In other words, our therapy space will be a safe, judgment-free zone that is informed and guided by your needs and goals. I am dedicated to help facilitate revealing your strengths in order to establish or regain agency in your life. I believe in justice, integrity, authenticity, and curiosity. Through patience, intuition, creativity, humor, and of course music, I strive to establish and enrich therapeutic relationships founded upon mutual trust and confidentiality. My mission is to universally promote your well-being through integrative therapeutic musical experiences.
Who am I? I have been a musician for over 30 years, with experience playing piano, violin, percussion, drums, and primarily acoustic and electric guitar. I received my Bachelors in Music and music technology (audio recording) at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA. I moved to Denver, CO and worked service industry jobs while I pursued open mic performances and local staging crew gigs for international touring acts at the Pepsi Center and Red Rocks. I moved to Austin, TX to work as a live audio engineer and tour manager for a local band. I worked multiple service industry jobs around town when the band was not on tour and sought out additional gigs running sound at various venues and/or contract audio gigs through a local music equipment rental and event production company. I played acoustic and electric guitar, keyboards, and electric bass in a few different bands throughout my time in Austin. I moved to New Orleans in 2019 to enroll in the Masters in Music Therapy program at Loyola University. I became a board-certified music therapist in February 2022 and have been working in mental health facilities and hospitals since March of 2022. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, alcohol and drug use, grief, trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, school/work issues, self-esteem and suicidal ideation. All persons seeking therapy are welcome. I do not discriminate upon any basis.

Racquel Martin, MA, PLPC
Tele-Therapy Only
Hello! My name is Racquel Martin, I am a provisional licensed professional counselor (PLPC). I received my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from The University of Holy Cross in New Orleans, LA.
I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples, who suffer from depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, grief, abuse (emotional, sexual, substance, physical), and many other mental health concerns. I have experience working with individuals and couples who fall on different ends of the mental health spectrum for counseling. I believe that though people can have similar mental health concerns one way is not the only way. I work with individuals by helping them throughout their journey by reflective listening and building a trusting therapeutic client-clinician relationship. This helps individuals by creating a safe and healthy treatment plan that is unique to their circumstances and their mental health journey, which will lead to the ultimate road of healing.
I see counseling as a process in which the client and the clinician will come together and use the counseling session as your time to process your thoughts, feelings, and experiences while finding solutions, and goal setting to help the client create a better overall life experience, work balance, and healing traumas, and more.
I consider myself to be culturally competent in counseling. I want the client to know that I will honor the wholeness of who they are and their healing journey. I aim to be open to learning and growing with my clients. I welcome and encourage clients of all backgrounds and religions. I see counseling as a whole; this means that for me as a clinician/therapist, I must be a well-rounded and a non-judgmental haven for my clients, of all walks of life and backgrounds. I want my clients to feel that when they are in session they are in a safe environment where they can let go of their heaviest burdens and focus on processing and finding solutions to help improve their overall mental health.
I approach counseling by utilizing a more holistic/integrative therapeutic approach to counseling, but I also have experience with other therapeutic approaches such as CBT, EFT, Gestalt, person-centered, existential, and many others. I am a firm believer in therapists not tying themselves to any one approach. Instead, blending elements from different approaches and tailor treatment according to the needs of the client. The goal is to be better than when we first started. The hardest part is starting so I welcome you in, you have completed the hard part. Now let’s start the healing journey together! I am honored to be part of this journey with you.
Your friendly neighborhood therapist!
Positive Affirmations: I give myself permission to heal & be happy. I offer gratitude in all ways.

Hi! I’m Elizabeth, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and founder of Prismatic Counseling, LLC.
I could be listing my degrees and licenses here, but I’m guessing you’re less interested in those than you are in my therapeutic approach. You've heard the saying "walk a mile in someone else's shoes", right? I have walked a lot of miles in a lot of shoes. These life experiences have taught me patience, understanding and empathy. Experience and familiarity in alternative relationships, kink, the treatment of substance use disorder and veteran's and first responder issues, as well a service-industry knowledge base. Open to working with anyone motivated to change. I come from a judgement-free, harm reduction perspective. My role in the therapeutic process is to show up and meet you where you are at, whether you are just starting therapy or have been on your therapeutic journey for years. Therapy does not come with black and white, right or wrong ways to do it, and I will work with you to find the best approach to help you meet your goals.

Therapy is based on mutual respect and honesty. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I will support your courage in recognizing a need for change in your life. We all experience times of great challenge, heartache, grief, self doubt, anger, uncertainty and even self hatred. My purpose as a therapist is to encourage self acceptance and provide a caring and stable voice of reason. I will ask you questions that inspire you to more clearly think for yourself and understand how you relate to others. You are the expert on you, and I am an expert in helping you see yourself as you truly are,... complicated, beautiful and resilient just like this city!
I promise to also challenge your harmful and toxic thoughts without judgment and instead nurture genuine self reflection so that you can better own your truth. Together, as partners in this journey, we will have meaningful discussions about who you are, where you come from and who you want to become. A Mental Health diagnosis does not define you!
Please click on the video links on each page to hear a brief explanation of how we will work together to address that area of Mental Health.
I look forward to meeting you.

Life is difficult. Buddha said as much and anyone who has lived for a chunk of time knows as much. And for various reasons--pride, fear and procrastination among them--we as humans don't always readily reach out for help. There are many ways to reach out. Some do it through talking to family members or clergy. Some through friends or support groups. And sometimes the problems we are dealing with go away by themselves. But not usually. Sometimes our problems are signs that more serious issues need tending. For example, a person struggling with depression may find he or she is in that state because of choices made that have limited their range of options and feelings. And the depression is, in part, a sign that things radically need to change. I've worked with children, adolescents, couples and families. (You knew the sales pitch was coming.) I've worked in various roles in social services and counseling for over 20 years and am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT).
Rickia Washington, MA, PLPC

Hello! My name is Rickia Washington. I am a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC). I received my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nicholls State University. I have experience working with children, adolescents and adults who suffer with Anxiety, Depression, Substance Abuse, Shame, Guilt, Grief, Self-Esteem, and many others. I see counseling as a process in which you, the client, and I, the PLPC having come to understand and trust one another, work as a team to explore and define present problem situations, develop future goals for an improved life and work in a systematic fashion toward realizing those goals. I approach counseling from a cognitive-behavioral perspective, meaning patterns of thoughts and actions are explored in order to better understand your problems and to develop solutions. As we begin this counseling journey, I will provide a non-judgmental atmosphere where you can share freely. You seeking counseling is the start of you becoming a better vision of yourself and I am honored to be able to share this journey with you.
In the counseling process, I believe that being transparent helps build the counseling relationship. My favorite tv show is Grey’s Anatomy. One thing that I value in my personal life is self-care, which helps when I’m feeling too stressed or burned out. My self-care plan involves many different things, for example, going for a walk or binge watching my favorite show. Taking time out for self-care helps you relieve the pressure of everyday life and helps you reset to a healthy point. What do you do for self care?
It’s not about being perfect. It’s about effort. When you bring that effort every single day, that’s where transformation happens. That’s how change occurs.

Hi, I’m Eric. I believe the foundation of helpful therapy is a trusting and supportive relationship. I provide a safe and compassionate space where clients are encouraged to gain self-awareness, while honoring the strengths and values each person brings with them. A process of exploration into your own experience - of thought, emotion, sensation, and behavior - can empower a greater ability to make conscious, creative choices toward personally meaningful change for a more fulfilling life. Gradually, this process can transform the way you relate to yourself, others, and the world.
Working from a perspective that is Humanistic and Mindfulness informed, I help people build a connection with the inner guidance that is our natural source of healing and growth to treat a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, adjustment to life transitions, identity development, and spiritual exploration.
It can take a lot to reach out for help, to confront the challenges or questions we face. The process of finding a good fit with a therapist can add to that challenge and I want to recognize the strength it takes to have made it to this point. I invite you to reach out to talk about how we can work together to support you on your therapeutic journey.

I believe art is a language everyone once spoke fluently- an innate ability we all possess. As children, we use visual imagery as a way to understand and navigate our surroundings and this serves as our personal connection to the world. My long relationship to visual art and intimacy with various media informs the way I guide you toward your own personal uncovering and self-exploration. Art is the central force of our work together and we continue to remain open and curious about what story it may reveal.
I have worked in a variety of settings such as, day treatment programs, alternative schools, and inpatient psychiatric hospital settings. My approach to Art Therapy utilizes both an Art as Therapy and Art Psychotherapy theoretical orientation. I consider myself a trauma sensitive, somatic informed Art Therapist.
Art making serves as a catalyst to connect to your body on a deeper level. I believe it is intrinsically healing and revealing. In our work together, I hope that you will discover, the artwork always finds a way to amplify your voice, and connect you to your body. I sincerely feel humbled to guide you toward honoring your intuition and uncover your power.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, off balance, or stuck in a cycle you can't seem to break, counseling can provide the framework for a radical shift. As a longtime former service industry worker, I deeply relate to the challenges of such a demanding work environment and the lifestyle impacts the industry can have. Authenticity and real understanding are key ingredients in the therapeutic relationship, and you can come to our sessions feeling empowered to share your real story without having to gloss over or sanitize it. Together, we can take a holistic look at your life to identify where you may be holding onto limiting or unhelpful beliefs and behavior patterns. We will define your core values and explore new ways to respond to life's challenges that are more aligned with your true goals.
My counseling style is empowering, nonjudgmental, and direct, with an emphasis on REBT and DBT interventions that build distress tolerance and challenge perspectives that no longer serve you. I believe in taking a dynamic, goal-oriented approach to change and offer realistic tools that you can start putting to use in just a few sessions.
Whether you are looking to manage stress, regulate emotions and behaviors, build relationship skills, increase your ability to communicate effectively, or deal with past history that is intruding on your daily functioning, I'd love to help you discover the new habits and perspectives that will help get you to a place of lasting change and transformation. I work with clients seeking help with anxiety, stress management, anger issues, depression, life transitions, trauma, grief and loss, and career issues. Let’s get started on building you a life that feels balanced and rewarding.

I am a Louisiana native who received my Master of Science in Counseling at Southeastern Louisiana University in May of 2021. I am a provisionally licensed professional working under the supervision of Wendy Rock, Ph.D., LPC-S., NCC, NSCS. The foundation of my counseling framework consists of three elements: the counseling relationship, unconditional positive regard, and integrating self-compassion. I believe a client's "answers" are within them; my role is to assist you by providing a non-judgmental space that utilizes psycho-education, evidence-based resources and tools, guided introspection, collaboration, and short term and long term definitive goals. My counseling perspective is existential, person-centered, and holistic, however I understand integration is key as every client is different. I has experience with adolescents, adults and older adults, complex trauma, sexual trauma, depression, anxiety, LGBTQA+ issues, gender identity, self-esteem, shame, grief, borderline personality disorder, adjustment issues, and cultural identity issues. My approach is sex-positive and can often incorporate a feminist perspective. I seek to provide unreserved support and empathy as my clients and I take the non-linear journey towards wellness and fulfillment together.

I'm a nationally certified and provisionally licensed professional counselor. Counseling is my passion, and I believe that the working relationship between client and counselor is the most important component in therapy. While self-reflection is exciting and rewarding, therapy can be difficult and emotionally taxing. Because of this, my main goal is to assure that my clients feel heard and supported throughout the healing process.
I use an integrative approach, mainly pulling from Feminist, Existential, and Adlerian theories. For me, this means considering how societal structures affect the mental health of individuals. I prioritize cultural competency and enjoy working with people who come from many different backgrounds. While I have experience working with a variety of concerns, my main areas of interest include grief, trauma, LGBT+ issues, and chronic illness.

Hi there! I'm Marlaena Miller--a personal coach, relationship coach, and licensed therapist. I own and operate a private practice, Next-Level-Life, in the Lake Charles, LA area. My practice is fully online, which I have found to be as effective and more accessible than traditional face-to-face counseling.
I consider the work I do with my clients to be my greatest privilege (besides being a mom), and the central theme woven throughout my work is this: I am a therapist now; I was a client first; I am a human ALWAYS. My style is casual over clinical, as evidenced by the way I prioritize the relationship (i.e. authentic human encounter) and meet clients where they are, no matter their situation and experiences. My primary job is to hold a safe, non-judgmental space for you to share, reflect, process, learn, problem-solve, heal, and grow--with me being a collaborator in the therapeutic process. My therapeutic approach is integrative, humanistic, individualized, and tailored to each client's needs.
I believe most sources of deep pain/problems are relational in nature and can be best understood in context (systemic), although the way it presents (symptoms) may vary. I view coaching and therapy as a unique opportunity for you and I to develop a professional relationship based on trust and openness, through which powerful healing, growth, and positive change can occur.

Between degrees, I gained a lot of life experience raising my children, being active in the adoption/foster care communities, and living overseas for a few years. Most people seek out therapy when they feel like life is overwhelming them. Maybe you feel that way too, and you don't know how to juggle everything or even where to start. I'd love to work with you to help you reach your goals and start living your life as the best version of yourself. I have experience with anxiety, depression, life transitions, parenting, family, and relationship issues. I use many approaches to counseling and partner with my clients to find the technique that is most beneficial for them. I look forward to hearing from you.

My intention as a therapist is to create a reflective space and to bring you clarity and support. We will explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviors, and together we will consider whether they are working for you. Within this space we will expand your awareness of your personal processes, both internally and in relationships and how these play out in your mind and body. With this deeper understanding of your self, we will establish goals that can be tailored to your needs. My role is to facilitate the removal of barriers that prevent connection to your self and others through a systemic and interpersonal approach.
I have experience with clients struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, substance use, LGTBQ+ issues, life transitions, anger, trauma, interpersonal relationships, communication and existential fears.
I have been in your shoes before, looking for therapist and I know it can feel like a challenge, so feel free to reach out with any questions. I believe that therapy works best when you feel connection and comfort with your therapist. Please contact me to see if we are a good fit for this process.

According to Charles Swindoll, “Life is ten percent what happens to you and ninety percent how you respond to it.” This quotation makes it seem like "responding" to life is easy, doesn't it? But the truth is, life is messy, and navigating its ups and downs can be really hard. Having someone to act as a sounding board, help us stay grounded, and support us in shifting our perspective can be invaluable. Especially amidst a national pandemic that has flipped most people's realities upside down, you may have found yourself facing unexpected hurdles and have decided that enough is enough and you're ready to take the next step.
I draw from many different approaches in my work but primarily use motivational interviewing, CBT, and mindfulness to help people learn how to be more gentle with themselves and build on their (often unrecognized) successes so they can stop feeling stuck and move forward.
I try my best to welcome all parts of all people into the (virtual) room. That is to say, if you are gay, straight, or somewhere in between, you are welcome. If you are black, white, or somewhere in between, you are welcome. If you're a man, a woman, or somewhere in between, you are welcome. And if you have parts of yourself that you love, and other parts that you don't, they are all welcome. All of you is welcome, and I'd be honored to join you on your journey.

My name is Christina and I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 14 years of experience in retail and the service industry. For the bulk of my career, I have worked with people who have substance use disorders and trauma-related diagnoses. In addition to substance use, I am most skilled in addressing anxiety disorders, depression, difficulties with stress management, life transitions, and management of ADHD symptoms. I take a curiosity-based approach to figuring out the root of what is causing discomfort or distress and utilize CBT and ACT from a postmodern framework. I am not interested in telling people what they should or should not do, I consider my role as a partner who walks hand in hand with you as we explore what works for you, as an individual, and what doesn’t. If you are reaching out due to difficulty controlling substance use, please know that I am not here to push any strict sobriety requirements. I encourage every potential client to take your time choosing a therapist – not every clinician will be a good fit and that’s ok.
